Forthcoming Bollywood films

Manorama Six Feet Under posterThe next two Bollywood films in Channel 4’s latest run of Indian films will be a film noir loosely based on Roman Polanski’s Chinatown and a taut thriller set in Mumbai.

In Manorama Six Feet Under director Navdeep Singh takes the film noir genre and sets it in the desolate blazing hot desert of Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, A Wednesday! concerns an ordinary weekday in India’s bustling metropolis of Mumbai. An anonymous call to the police commissioner announces that five bombs have been planted across the city and will explode later that day unless four terrorists in police custody are released.

The film was written in the aftermath of the 2006 bombings of seven Mumbai commuter trains, but released before the 2008 attacks on the city.
